‘MANN KI BAAT’ QUIZ-CUM-DECLAMATION CONTEST

Season III

Mann Ki Baat broadcast by All India Radio is considered one of the most widely broadcast radio programs with the world’s highest listener audience. This program is a trendsetter to reach the masses being regularly conducted by a world leader and it has helped to reinvent the importance of radio as a medium of communication. So far 110 episodes of the program have been broadcasted. It is a historic moment in a radio broadcast without parallels. The broadcast became viral not only among adults, its highly popular among school children, college students, farmers, laymen, and all categories of people.

Each episode of Mann Ki Baat is a repository of knowledge covering Indian tradition, culture, heritage, history, freedom struggle, great leaders, development initiatives government, positive and innovative initiatives of citizens in the nook and corner of the country, science innovations, etc.

To encourage and motivate students to listen and learn from the MKB programs, the Global Givers Foundation in collaboration with NYKS under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India conducted competitions in two seasons among the school and college students in a blended mode of Quiz and Elocution during 2023. The season one winners witnessed Independence Day programs and season two winners witnessed Republic Day programs in Delhi. Now they have proposed to start the third episode of the program on 19th June 2024.

The program will be conducted at Two Levels. School/College and Taluk Level. The competitions will be for three categories of students: High Schools/Higher Secondary Schools/Colleges including polytechnics and professional colleges.

School/College level there will be Quiz competitions only. The first-place winners will be selected for the Taluk-level competition. The first and second-place winners at the institution level will be given certificates.

At the Taluk level, there will be a blend of both Quiz and Declamation competitions. Taking the averages of both competitions the winners will be declared. The first-place winners will be facilitated to visit Delhi and witness the Independence Day Celebrations and historic places. The first, second, and third-place winners will be honoured with a memento and certificate.

The school/college level competitions will be from 19th June to 15th July 2024. The Taluk Level competitions will be on 20th July 2024. The winners will travel to Delhi tentatively by 9th August and return to Thiruvananthapuram on 19th August 2024.

A Home for the Vulnerable

Global Givers Foundation, Thiruvananthapuram has launched its Project, Home for the Vulnerables at Kuriathy in Uzhamalackal Grama Panchayat of Thiruvananthapuram district. Sri. V Muraleedharan, Honourable Minister of State for External and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India has done the Bhoomi Pooja for the house of Mrs. Asha Kumari, Vishnu Bhavan, Ward No. 3 Kuriathy, Uzhamalackal in a simple function attended by several well-wishers from the locality. The 450 sq. ft house will have two rooms, a living area, a hall, a kitchen, and a sit-out. Toilets and other facilities also will be created in the house. Green protocols will be followed in the construction of the house. Mrs. Raji, Grama Panchayat Member and Nair Service Society of the area has taken the lead in constructing the house supported by the Global Givers Foundation.
